TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Tools/Handtools
Workshop 101 is well equipped with power tools and hand tools. There is also a sharpening centre, which students can use for their own tools. As part of your tuition we include glue, sanding paper, aprons, hearing, eye and dust protection. Students are welcome to bring their own hand tools, safety glasses and ear muffs.

Clothing
Please wear closed in shoes, and ensure any long hair is well tied back. You will also be required to tuck in any loose shirts, or wear an apron over the top.

Safety Policy
The safety of all participants is the primary consideration of Workshop 101. All students will be required to follow the instructor’s directions at all times. Safety lessons are built into each workshop and students will be supervised closely on machines at all times. Students will be supplied with hearing, eye and dust protection devices.

General Conduct
Workshop 101 is a shared space, and espouses an attitude of acceptance and tolerance. Inappropriate or otherwise offensive behavior will result in the cancellation of any further bookings. Consumption of alcohol or illicit drugs prior to attending is strictly prohibited. Any medical conditions or prescription medications that may affect concentration or coordination needs to be disclosed in confidence to the Tutors. Students agree to comply with directions provided by the Tutors.

Storage of Student Materials
Project materials may be stored at the Workshop while the student is attending classes. If these materials are left for longer than 4 weeks after finishing the class, ownership of the goods transfers to Workshop 101. The Workshop accepts no responsibility for theft or damage of a student’s materials, hardware, tools or other property stored at the Workshop.

Missed Classes
We are unable to provide refunds for missed classes, but will try and schedule you in for an extra session to make up for the missed time. This is subject to spaces being available in the other classes. Please let us know if you are planning holidays or to be away for a while.

Cancellation Policy
Classes are only refundable if another student on our waiting list can take your place or if the cancellation occurs more than 14 days before the classes starting date. If the cancellation is more than 14 days before your starting date we will refund your deposit, less a $40 administration fee for the regular classes and $200 administration fee for the masterclasses. In the unusual event that Workshop 101 must cancel a course we will ring you and you can either be rescheduled into the next available course or have your deposits and fees refunded.
