CURLY TABLE

Winner of “The People’s Choice Award” at the The Tasmanian Wood Design Collection ACQUISITIVE BIENNIAL EXHIBITION, June 2006.

Inspired by the need of galleries in Tasmania for an affordable and easily portable gift/souvenir item, the Curly Table was designed as an elegant re-invention of flat packed “kit furniture”. Tourists visiting the galleries can carry it in their hand luggage or easily mail it home in a small box. By assembling it themselves, customers enjoy a sense of participation in building the item. Typical flat pack screws and fastenings are avoided to differentiate it from a mass-produced item. The joinery system is a modern interpretation of the classic arts and craft wedges.

The tables will come with a lacquer finish and are supplied flat packed in a slimline cardboard carton. The dimensions of the carton are shown below. Included in each box are assembly instructions, a profile of the designer, a fact sheet on your chosen timber, and information on maintenance of the piece.
